EVENT Rules
- The showcase consists of a 4-game minimum (weather permitting).
- All games have a 2-hour time limit. If the game is tied after 7 innings and the time limit has not been reached, the game will not be continued and it will be called a tie. No new inning can be started after the 2-hour mark.
- Please note, if you are waiting to play the next game, please check in with the site supervisor to get a game ball for your pitcher. Note that there is only 15 minutes between games, so get your players loose and ready to go. The mound and plate will be raked, and then the next game will start.
- Double rostering players is not permitted, i.e. if a program has multiple teams, players are not permitted to be on multiple rosters of that program or between programs.
- This is a one-piece wood bat tournament. No composite bats are allowed. No bamboo, no hybrids.
- Teams are allowed to hit 10. You can use an EH and DH for any player in the field. DH rule is to be followed per the rules. If the DH enters the field, the DH is lost. The EH can move into a position in the field.
- Courtesy runners for pitchers and catchers only.
- You must have a backup catcher ready in between innings to get the pitcher warm. Number of pitches between innings will be strictly enforced.
- Must slide rule will be strictly enforced. We will be following the college slide rule. Pop-up slides are legal.
- Official score book will be kept by the home team. Final score will be confirmed with the site supervisor and then reported as completed.
- All substitutions and changes will be book to book changes. The umpire will not handle any changes.
- Home team is determined by coin flip before the game. Coin flip is to be done by the site supervisor. Coin flip is called by the team that traveled the farthest.
- Mercy rule will be 12 runs after 4 innings, 10 after 5 innings.
- All issues with the weather will be decided by the Event Director or event representative located at the field.
- No infield/outfield warm-ups will be taken before the game. No exceptions.
- Any coach or player that is ejected from a game is automatically suspended for the next game.
- Any protests will be handled at the time of incident. There are site supervisors at all fields and they will handle any protests brought by a manager and will make a decision appropriately. If they can not come to a conclusion on the protest, the Event Director will make the final call. Event Director is Bill Flaherty, 401-413-9775.
