COVID 19 Guidelines

Below are the specific guidelines Providence Sports & Leadership is following to ensure the health and safety of all players, parents, coaches, staff and spectators.

● All players, coaches, fans, vendors and officials must adhere to the guidelines from the CDC, state, and/or local authorities.
● Adults 65 years and older and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions are strongly encouraged not to the event at this time.
● Proactively and regularly check your players’ and coaches’ health status (taking temperature and monitoring for any symptoms) as recommended by the CDC, state and/or local authorities prior to attending a Providence Sports & Leadership event.
● Do not come to the event if you or any household member is not feeling well.
● Do not come to the event if you or any household member has been exposed to a person with COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
● Do not attend the event if you are not comfortable with measures being taken at a facility.
● Providence Sports & Leadership recommends players, coaches, fans, and officials bring personal hand sanitizer, masks, chairs, and antibacterial wipes to events for their own personal use.
● Any tents brought into a complex is restricted to one family only per tent (some facilities will not allow tents, as their facility states upon entrance).
● Bring your own individual player/coach water as none will be provided in the dugouts. Use of drinking fountains is strictly prohibited.
● Providence Sports & Leadership may limit the number of total players/teams and adjust playing formats to accommodate CDC, state and/or local guidelines.
● Spectators for Providence Sports & Leadership events may be limited and even excluded except for immediate family as we all work together during this time.
● All event players, coaches, spectators and umpires may be subject to additional screening elements prior to entering the facility (i.e. temperature check, individual equipment, health questions, etc.). This includes wearing protective nose and face coverings and following strict health and safety guidelines.
● Providence Sports & Leadership partners with a number of communities for this event. Guidelines may be different based on facility requirements and guidelines. Providence Sports & Leadership partners and event hosts must adhere to all state and local guidelines.
● Items not allowed into facilities include team coolers or team water containers (players must have individual drinks), sunflower seeds, chewing gum.
● Players may not share helmets, bats, gloves, bags, catcher’s gear, towels, uniforms/clothing and or food/drinks.
● Providence Sports & Leadership requires that all staff, vendors and officials all wear nose and mouth coverings while in the facility whenever in close contact with players, coaches or family members.
● Athletes/coaches must wear masks (provided this is state’s guidance) going to and from the playing facility. Athletes/coaches may wear masks during games, as long as they feel it is safe to do so, but are not required. However, we do recommend they be worn while not playing in the game and/or walking about within the facility.
● Wash hands with soap and water. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
● Cover mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
● Avoid touching mouth/nose.
● Everyone must follow the recommended social distancing guidelines.
● Avoid shaking hands or touching another person not in your immediate household.
● Game time limits could be shortened to allow time for cleaning between games.
● Home plate umpire will either be located between the pitcher and 2B or in their normal positioning behind the plate.
● Dugouts could be expanded outside of the fence, with the safety of the players and coaches in mind and not in foul territory, when necessary. Please follow the state/local guidelines for the number of people in the dugout at a time. Only players and coaches are allowed in dugouts.
● Players are discouraged from touching their face. No contact allowed between players, including handshakes, high fives, hugs, chest bumps.
● Proper social distancing at home plate meeting per recommended local social distancing guidelines.
● No team huddles on the mound. Mound visits can include pitcher, one coach, and catcher and must maintain 6-feet social distance.
● Base coaches must maintain 6-feet social distance from players at all times.
● No congregating around batting cages or anywhere pre or post-game. Must maintain 6-foot social distance.
● Conversations between coach and umpire must maintain 6-foot distance.
● Providence Sports & Leadership recommends teams to clean and sanitize dugouts and bleachers before and after their game slot.
● Teams are required to clean all trash from the dugout prior to leaving the facility. If a dugout is not clean on arrival, please notify facility staff before entering.
● Teams must wait until the prior team is completely off the field and all equipment and trash is removed from the dugout before entering.
